Question
S. (Similar to Chapter go, thee, 28 and recitation problem 7) The magnetic field through the loop shown below increases in the direction shown according to the equation given below. A) Determine the average induced emf in the loop after 2.2 s passes in the B-field (t 2.2 and the direction of the average current through the resistor. (Explain in detail how you arrived at the direction of the current. Assume that "out of the page" vectors are in a positive direction and "into the page" vectors are in a negative direction.) B (4.1 T/s)t 15 T X X X X X X X X X R 78,70 12.0 cmExplanation / Answer
t = 2.2 s , r = 12 cm , R = 78.7 ohms
Part A:from faradays law incdued emf = change in magnetic flux
V = -AdB/dt
B = (4.1t) - 15 T
dB/dt = 4.1
V = (3.14*0.12*0.12)(4.1)
V = 0.185 V
part B: V = IR
0.185 = I*78.7
I = 0.0026 A
from Lenz law the direction of induced current is opposite to change in magnetic flux
current in the resistor is counter clock wise
