(WRITE NEAT) NO CURSIVE...

#5, you can draw just the distance versus time graph. Draw it like the example above.

Draw the "position versus time" graph and the "distance versus time" graph for the following motion:

A biker travels for half an hour uphill at a speed of 10 mph.

She rests for 10 minutes.

She turns around and returns to the same way as she came to her starting position at a speed of 15 mph.

Also answer the following questions: What distance did she go uphill? How long did it take her to come back? What is the total time the biker traveled? What is the total distance the biker traveled?

M distance traveled (miles) home school home 1 2 3 4 time (minutes)

Explanation / Answer

A)

Total distance = time * speed

= 0.5( 10 mph)

= 5 miles

= 8.05 km

B) TIME = DISTANCE / TIME

= 5 MILES / 15 MPH

= 1/3 hr

= 20 minutes

C) total time = 30 minites + 10 minites + 20 minites

= 1 hr

D) total distance

= 5+5

= 10 miles

= 16.10 km
