To qualify as science or as a scientific statement all 6 criteria must be used and all must be satisfied. If most, but not all of the CONPTT are satisfied, then it may be a protoscience. If none are satisfied, then it may be a nonscience or pseudoscience. Fill in the Table below. Place an X in each criteria where the statement is true. 2) Extraterrestrial have visited the earth. There are no evidence in support of this answer. Still research are going on this topic this is pseudoscience.
3)The Bermuda triangle causes ships and planes to sink and disappear. This is not a totally scientific statement, as the explanation is not provided about the strong magnetic field. It can be considered protoscience, where the primitive ideas are still prevalent.
4)The statement regarding the number of human chromosomes is scientific, as it is based on observation and research. It provides a good explanation too.
5) Some plants do eat meat. They are called Insectivorous plants. They gain nutrition from trapping and digesting insects. These plants have evidence about their existence, and proper explanation regarding their habit. Thus this is scientific.
6) Lunar position and horoscope study is a part of Astrology. This has been rejected by scientific community. Astronomical phenomenon cannot describe the human personalities. Thus it is conscience.
7) Green plants do convert sunlight into energy by the scientific process called Photosynthesis. This is a well explained process, with evidence and research. Thus it is science.
8)The coastlines of Africa and South America fit together can be considered as a protoscience. The primitive history of continents sharing there boundaries forming supercontinent has good explanation in Geology. But now there are no evidence, since the continents drifted away.
9)The statement regarding heart is true. It thus pumps blood as a closed system. But no scientific explanation is provided as to how blood flows in veins, arteries and capillaries. Thus it is a protoscience, where primitive ideas have been taken up and scientific explanation is still nascent.
10) The moon is composed of lunar rocks, mainly Anorthosite and not green cheese. This is nonscience
