Assuming the values of R=200 ohms, L=0.03 H, C= 0.25 micro F in a series circuit.

a. find resonance frequency of the circuit.

b. if V= 40 volts, what will be the current in the circuit

c. what power will be supplying the source

i got part A wrong using the formula : Fres=1/2pi srtL*c

i got 58.14 hz...what did i do wrong?

Explanation / Answer

fres = (1/2*pi*sqrt(L*C)) = 1/(2*3.142*sqrt(0.03*0.25*10^-6) = 1837.52 Hz

current I = V/R = 40/200 = 0.2 A

Power supplied is P = V*i = 40*0.2 = 8W
