Explanation / Answer
Hi,
Well in this case, as they are only asking us to grade the answers, we will do exactly that, following the scale they provide.
1. Looking along the surface of the table at the wad with only one open eye, move your finger along the sight line toward the wad, keeping the finger 1 inch above the table. Stop when you think you're above the wad. Move your head to the left.
I think this is a 4, because you could have move your head to the right, but overall is ok.
2. Case 1: your finger is now to the left of the wad: You have moved your finger past the wad. Return your head to the initial position. Bring your finger closer and repeat process.
I think is a 4 again, because your finger is passing the wad but at the same time it is not going vertically (to the front) instead is going to a side (the left one in this case).
3. Case 2: If your finger is now to the right of the wad: Your finger is too close. Return your head to the initial position. Move your finger away from you and repeat the process.
I consider this is a 4, because it is very similar to the previous 'case'.
4. Case 3: your finger is still above wad: Finger is actually above wad and you are done.
In my opinion this is a 5, because by doing the experience you can prove its truthfulness.
Overall, I think this process deserves a 4.5 over 5 as it will allow you to achieve the objective, but somehow it lacks versatility.
I hope it helps.
