Question
Here are the results of an experiment on CO2 production. Answer the questions
1. Which biochemical pathway is most responsible for the production of the CO2 in this experiment? (Glycolysis, Krebs cycle...)
2. Considering what we know about enzymes, why were the tubes incubated at 37 degrees Celsius for this experiment?
3. Given what we know and also from our data, why is NaF poisonous to human cells?

Answer- Co2 production is mainly occur in kreb cycle in conversion of alpha ketoglutarate to succinyl coA by enzyme alpha ketoglutarate dehydrogenase. And conversion of oxalosuccinate to alpha ketoglutarate by enzyme isocitrate dehydrogenase .
Answer 2- Enzymes are biological catalyst. Most of the enzyme are proteinaceous. Every enzymes have unique temperature range for working . Most of the enzymes are mostly active at human body temperature 37°C.
Answer-3 , Fluoride part of sodium flouride is mainly responsible for toxic effect to human cell . Flouride interfare with electron transport chain in cell and alter calcium metabolism. This affects heart muscle, arrhythmias may develops. It can cause irritation to eye , skin etc
