Question

You next examine the location of a different secreted protein called oxytocin using mmunofluorescence [same procedure as before, except this time you use an antibody that binds to the oxytocin protein]. Oxytocin is a hormone that triggers the production of milk in the mammary glands (it also does a bunch of other things as well). You find that the hypothalamus cells of both patients look basically the same when looking at the intracellular location of the oxytocin protein. Hypothalamus cell from normal patient Hypothalamus cell from a diabetes insipidus patient cell membrane cell membrane Oxytocin Oxytocin Based on this result, would you expect your patient to have problems with milk production if she had a child? Explanation / Answer

oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus and is secreted into the bloodstream by using the posterior pituitary gland. secretion relies upon on the electrical activity of neurons inside the hypothalamus – it is released into the blood whilst those cells are excited.

the two predominant movements of oxytocin inside the body are the contraction of the womb (uterus) throughout childbirth and lactation. oxytocin stimulates the uterine muscle tissue to contract and additionally, will increase production of prostaglandins, which boom the contractions similarly.

oxytocin is managed by an advantageous remarks mechanism wherein a launch of the hormone reasons an action that stimulates more of its own release. while the contraction of the uterus starts, as an instance, oxytocin is released, which stimulates greater contractions and greater oxytocin to be launched. in this way, contractions increase in intensity and frequency.

there's also an advantageous comment worried in the milk-ejection reflex. whilst an infant sucks at the breast of its mother, the stimulation ends in oxytocin secretion into the blood, which then causes milk to be allowed down into the breast. oxytocin is also launched into the brain to help stimulate similarly oxytocin secretion. these approaches are self-limiting; production of the hormone is stopped after the child is brought or when the baby stops feeding.

Through above explanation it is clear that oxytocin is a hormone which is released by hypothalmus located in brain which control the lactation period in mother while feeding baby so when this two are working perfectly and looking in better position in the image we can say that mother will produce milk properly when baby will born.
