Question

For chi-square analysis, If P is 15, then what is the conclusion? How would we read the table? 3. Chi-Square Analysis: You have collected 4 sets of maize data (sce Lab 1:Mendel's Laws, data Tables 1.1, 1,2, 1.3, and 1.4): 1) Individual Monohybrid Data 2) Individual Dihybrid Data Monohybrid Data Class Dihybrid Data For one set of data (your choice), you will: * Choose an appropriate and descriptive title for the page State Ho and HA. (You can use the Ho and Hi statements from the lab manual.) Then state the expected probabilities for the data from this type of cross > Complete a data table modeled after Table 14 in your Lab 3 document, including the final value Use the Chi-Square table below to determine and report the precise P-value range (remember: df-number of groups-1) Make a conclusion -fail to reject Ho (no additional discussion/explanation required), or rejct Hoin favor of Hs (discussion/explanation required) 0.005 7.879 10.597 12.838 14.860 16.750 0.10 2.706 4.605 0.05 3.841 5.991 0.025 5.024 7.378 0.01 6.635 9.210 11.345 df P- 0.995 0.99 0.975 0.95 0.90 0.001 0.004 0.016 0.010 0,020 0.0510103 0.21 2 3 -0.012-T -0.115 02161 0.352| 0.584 | 6251 | 7.815| 9.348| . 4 0.207 0.297 0484 0.711 1064 7.779 9.488 11.143 13.277 5.086 0.412 0.554 0.831 1.145 1.610 9.236 11.070 12.833 676 0.872 1.237 1.635 2.204 10.645 12.592 14.449 16.812 18.548 0.989 1.344 6 1230 100 2107 203 1.690 12.017 14.067 16.013 18.475 20.278 1.646 2.180 2.733 3.490 13.362 15.507 17.535 20.090 21.955

Explanation / Answer

If p value is 15 it shows that null hypothesis is rejected and alternate hypothesis should be accept.Meaning of this is that there is no significant difference between specified populations, If there is any observed difference may be due to sampling or experimental error.

We read this table by comparing two columns. One is by degree of freedom and one is by p value of test.First we calculate value by chi square test(by observed and expected value and degree of freedom).Value which come after test,we check that value in this table and check where that alue lies and check corresponding p value. If p value less than .005 than test is statistical significant and null hypothesis stays.
