If an experiment is done properly, a researcher can test different variables at the same time. What are the independent variables in this experiment? c. Are the independent variables quantitative? d. Explanation / Answer

A ). Dependent variable is the' percentage inhibition of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus'.

A dependent variable in an experiment is the outcome of the experiment which is under study and it's variation being measured. A dependent variable changes it's value when the value of an independent variable is changed.

B). Independent variables are the 'type of drug' and 'drug dosage'.

An independent variable is under control in an experiment. That is, it is changed or it's value is changed to study the effects on the dependent variable.

C). 'Drug dosage' is quantitative variable because it's measured.

'Drug type' is qualitative or categorical.

D). Drug dosage is a continuous variable.

A continuous variable can have any value between it's minimum and maximum ( sometimes taken as infinity). Drug dosage can have any value.

Only quantitative variables can be continous or discrete. Hence drug type cannot be continuous.

E). Line graph

F). Because a continuous variable is involved. Also three variables are plotted better using line graph . And there is overlapping of data especially at 1.5mg dosage across all three drug types which can be confusing bin a bar graph.
