Question

Wild-type and rml Arabidopsis seedlings were grown on agar plates for 14 days post-germination. By this time, primary root growth in both the wild-type and rml mutant plants had ceased. Measurements were taken to record both root length (root tip to root/shoot junction) and average epidermal cell length in both wild-type and the rml mutant. This data is presented below in Table 1, along with a calculated estimate of the mean number of epidermal cells arranged end-to-end in a longitudinal file from root tip to the root/shoot junction (number/file). The data for each mean includes standard errors.

Provide a self-explanatory table heading for Table 1. In generating your heading, keep in mind that both figure legends and table headings in research publications or reports should include sufficient detail to understand the data presented in them without referring to other explanatory text.

Explanation / Answer

Heading of the table is as follows-

Root length and length and file/number of in epidermal cells in wild and rml arabidopsis seeding culture 14 days after post germination and primary growth ceasure.

The above heading is self explanatory and all the conditions have been included in the heading itself.
