The axon terminals of one neuron are located close to the dendrites of another neuron, forming a connection known as synapse. Neurotransmitters are released into the synapse by the vesicles present on axon terminals.These neurotransmitters carry the message from one neuron to the next. The neurotransmitter binds on the receptor present on the dendrite of next neuron and the information is recieved and processed by the receptor.
