Question

Draw a circuit diagram (similar to the one below) for each trial (There will be three total). Label the voltage and resistance. Label the current at Point A and Point D Label the voltage across AB and CD. Graph voltage on the y-axis versus current on the x-axis in an xy scatter plot. This can be done by hand or on a program like excel. Describe the relationship of the current and voltage. How is this relationship significant in terms of Ohm's Law? What is the meaning of the slope of your graph? Does your data support Ohm's Law? Why or why not?

Explanation / Answer

Here, graph between current and voltage is a straight line .

=> V = IR

=> slope of graph represents the Resistance of circuit .

=> current at point A and D = I = V/R

=>   voltage across AB and CD = V = IR

=> Ohm’s law states the relationship between voltage (E), current (I), and resistance (R). The equation is simplified as E = I x R.

This law explains the how the most important concepts of electricity relate to each other. Without the Ohm’s law, there will be no electricity at all. Therefore, the major importance of this law is that, it allows us to enjoy the uses of our appliances now such as TV, refrigerator, Players, etc.
