Question

You have been a staff nurse for the 3 years since your graduation from nursing school. Your original career plan was to work 3 years on a general medical unit and then transfer to the emergency room. However, because of a recent downturn in the economy there have not been any recent openings in your hospital’s emergency room. You have, however, been offered a charge nurse position on the medical unit. You wonder if you should relocate and seek employment at a big university hospital even if it means staying on a general medical surgical unit. You are self-aware enough to know that it is time for a change, but which change, and how should you make the decision? What decision did you make and why?

Explanation / Answer

Ans:- As I wanted to take emergency room after completing my general medical ward duties but I am not getting that due to unavailablilty of emergency room . And I got offer to be an charge nurse in the same department where I was already working and on other side I m thinking that if i will relocate in any another hospital and may be I will get the same department. So in this case I would like to choose first option that is to be a charge nurse because in general ward I m already become experienced and this time I should take challenging act so that I can develop my skills in another ways...
