Question
Someone please help with these physics questions. I need help bad. I have looked up five star answers for these on Chegg, and I do what they did, and it says they're wrong! Please help!
A red laser (645 nm) shines on a double slit (slit separation = 0.165 mm). What is the angle of the fourth order maximum (that is, the fourth bright fringe away from the central maximum)? What is the smallest separation between two slits that will produce a second-order minimum for 642 nm red light? What is the relationship for destructive interference for a double slit? mumExplanation / Answer
sin (theta) = m*lamda/d= (4*645*10^-9)/(0.165*10^-3)
theta = 0.895 degrees
for second order dark fringe
sin (theta) = (m+0.5)lamda/d
sin(0.895) = ((2+0.5)*642*10^-9)/d
d = 102.75 um
