can some one help me out with question 5,

1. Discuss the shape of the graph and what it tells us about the vaab1es 2. Discuss the percent difference between the two values of k and what that tells us about the difference between the friction when the block is on its side compared to its edge. What should the difference be?? Why? Does your result Confirm this? 3. Discuss the percent difference between the two values you got for Are they close? Should they be? 4. Make a complete list of all the sources of measurement error that limit the accuracy of the results. 5. How can we justify saying that the weight of the hanging mass is equal to the kinetic friction force when the object s moving at a constant speed? Why is the constant speed important? 6. Include a brief narrative describing the overall lab experience, including a unexpected problems that may have arisen and any solutions you may have devised.

Explanation / Answer

When an object has constant velocity, it is en equilibrium (Zero acceleration).

Thus, as the only forces acting is the weight and the kinetic friction, they must be equal in magnitude to produce constant speed.

Constant speed is important because it tells us that the acceleration is 0, which enables us to conclude the previous paragraph.
