Question

The CIO of your organization walks into your office one Friday afternoon. As he closes the door behind him he says that “If you say anything to anyone concerning what I am about to tell you, you are fired.” He then explains that the team of programmers that you supervise will be “released to seek other options” and that all of your project’s programming tasks will be outsourced to a country in Eastern Europe. Your job is to coordinate with this new outsource provider so that all programming work can be scheduled and transferred over in less than 3 months. In addition, you are not to let on to any of the company’s programmers that they will soon be replaced. He instructs you to carry on as nothing has changed. In fact, the company will give them a bonus if they can complete their current work assignment in three months rather than the scheduled four months.
As the project manager of this team, you have gotten to know each of the programmers fairly well. One of the programmers has just signed a mortgage to purchase her first house. Another is a single mother with her oldest child just entering college, and another has confided in you that he has been experiencing some health problems lately.
Utilizing the eight stage process (check your intuition) for making a sound ethical decision ,provide your rationale. The CIO of your organization walks into your office one Friday afternoon. Explanation / Answer

As a project manager of the team, I know every situation of the programmers , everyone is struggling in their own life. I will go against the will of the CIO, because if I will not tell them about the replacement they will have or they are going to be fired after few months, they will not be able to manage their jobs or search it as soon as possible. And as already I knew everything, it's better that I should tell them to search for a new job, so that they may not have to struggle during the job searching period.

And for me, as I already have been warned by CIO that if I will tell these things to programmer,I will be fired. So ,I will be ready for any outcomes, and will search a better job.

Because of me, I don't want many people to suffer and the programmers entrusted their faith on me. I won't do this to anyone.
