b) wavelength of red light = 685 nm

wavelength of violet light = 415 nm

rotation is proportional to 1/wavelength2   

let k is proportionality constant

=> 20.5 = k/(685*685) => k = 20.5*685*685

So rotation for violet light = k/(415*415) = 20.5*685*685/(415*415) = 55.852 degree Answer
