Using words, explain the laws of physics behind this in one paragraph. Don't write too much but also not too little. Please keep the equations used for the explanation simplistic. You can include topics of physics from Kinematics, Force, Conversvation of Energy and Momentum. Don't go into advanced Physics topics, it should cover first semester Physics for Engineers.

The Horo was used by the Ancient Japanese to deflect arrows from enemies. Explain how such silk could stop the arrows. The video itself explains it little but please expand on that more and use equations/formulas (like perhaps one for KE) to aid the explanation

A horo was around 1.8 m long and made from several strips of the cloths sewn together with a fringe of the top and bottom edges.The cloth strip were sewn together and formed into a sort of bag which would fill with air like a balloon when the wearer was riding a horse.
