Roots, stem and leaves are an integral part of plant. All three of them are necessary for their survival as they perform some if the most important functions. Roots are present underground. They may eiither be branched or unbranched. They help in the absorption of water and other nutrients from the soil that are essential for growth of the plant. Stems are present above the ground surface and they provide mechanical support for leaves, flowers and fruits. They help in the transportation of water and other nutrients from the root to the leaves. Leaves contain chlorophyll pigment which are essential for photosynthesis.
