Exercise 26.16
Consider the circuit shown in the figure (Figure 1) . The current through the 6.00-? resistor is 4.00 A, in the direction shown.
Part A
What is the currents through the 25.0-? resistor?
I = ________ APart B
What is the current through the 20.0-? resistor?
I = ________ A Exercise 26.16 Consider the circuit shown in the figure (Figure 1) . The current through the 6.00-? resistor is 4.00 A, in the direction shown. Part A What is the currents through the 25.0-? resistor? I = ________ A Part B What is the current through the 20.0-? resistor?Explanation / Answer
Here ,
let I be the current through 25 Ohm
Using current divider ,
I(6) = I*8/(6 + 8)
4 = I*8/(14)
I = 7 A
therefore , current through 25 Ohm is 7 A
B)
Now , Using KVL
E - 6*4 - 25*7 = 0
E = 199 V
Now , using Ohm's law
I(20) = 199/20
I(20) = 9.95 A
the current through 20 ohm is 9.95 A
