a) as we close the switch the effective resistance of parallel part reduces,

=> net resistance of the circuit decreases

=> current - increases

=> voltage drop across bulb - increases so it's bightness increases

b) in this part voltage sourse directly connected to the bulb so power dissipation remains same across the bulb (V^2/R)

so brightness remains same as before
