Question
If you are including calculations for the 35 degree -firing, staple them in your report in front of this page. One person from your lab group is to include the four white sheets of paper with the carbon marks with labels of horizontal firing, 25 degree , 35 degree , and 45 degree -firing to the end of his or her report. Which method do you believe to more accurate for determining the initial velocity of the ball: the horizontal firing or the firing at an angle? Why? We considered air resistance to be negligible. Was this valid? Why? Why was it important that the spring tension not be changed?Explanation / Answer
1..horizontal firing will be more accurate as air resistance won't play a very big role...if projectile is fired at an angle air resistance is high..
2..air resistance is negligible this is because the range, maximum height of projectile that is obtained experimentally is very close to theoritical calculation by using formulae...error in answer is very less
3...if the spring tension is changed then the amount of compression in the spring varies accordingly..thus leading to different answers for the part we want to calculate.. thus error increases
