Explanation / Answer

It is clear through the various theories about the lifespan that we are a culmination of our bio-psycho-sociocultural factors. My future career thus does depend on these factors described in the lifespan theories by our legendary theorists. To me, since I am driven by a need for achievement and constant cognitive growth, it is likely for me to choose a career which is related to the field of education. Moreover, since our environment is seen to be playing a tremendous role in how we are shaped, the fact that I have seen my parents in the same field, it is likely for me to be inspired by the same. This is closely related to Freud’s perspective on how we idealise our parents in the early years of lives. Theories proposed by thinkers like Sigmund Freud, Erik Erikson and Jean Piaget are relatively different from the theory proposed by Erickson majorly because he covers the entire lifespan and talks about its various crisis at each stage. A significant learning outcome is received after an individual surpasses each stage successfully. Such as the stage of intimacy vs isolation during the youth is surpassed successfully is the young adult learns how to form intimate relationships and stay sustain them using her/his social skills. If this is not achieved, the person goes through isolation.
