You are expected to get a large amount of work done within a very short period of time and mistakes are not tolerated. As a result you have grown to dislike your job and often leave at the end of the day feel sick from all the stress. Over the last few weeks you begin to notice that every time you just get dressed for work you feel nauseated.

Explanation / Answer

A. The unconditioned stimulus is Stressful job person is doing . This results in a nausea , stress and sickness. This is the unconditioned response .

With repeated pairings of getting ready for work and going to work , dressing for work becomes the conditioned stimuls to which the response is nauseated feeling that is the conditioned response.

Dressing for work earlier did not resulted in any feeling of nausea or stress . Till then it was the neutral stimulus .

B. The classical condioned response can be extinguished by changing the unconditioned stimulus i.e. by changing the work environment into more positive environment where the person feels no stress at all.
