If the country needs to achieve this, a transformation requires re-modeling of some aspects of the health care policies; especially for the nursing profession, which is the largest section of the health care workforce. The report “Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health” provides the following suggestions that can be implemented to change the quality of healthcare that can be provided to people of the US. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Committee Initiative on the Future of Nursing and the Institute of Medicine research that led to the IOM report, “Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health related to nursing workforce development, nursing education, and nursing practice. Administration should set standards for oversee coordinates, help in team work, quality improvement by following policies and plans, awareness in updated techniques.

Establish a monitoring system that uses the most current analytic approaches and data from the minimum data set to systematically measure and project nursing workforce requirements to fulfill by the organization.

To ensure that the nursing staff includes adequate nursing expertise., if not giving training sessions to bring a change and promising perfection to patients .

Conclusion: After the study on the nursing section of the health care system, IOM had launched a two year initiative to bring about these changes. Hence, overall IOM is the backbone which found the root cause of ill functioning of the nursing section and provided suitable recommendations.
