Question

How am I supposed find gravitational force when not given mass ? The information that the problem gives me is: A box is pulled 2.0 meters along a rough surface at a constant velocity using 100 N force inclined at 30 degrees above the horizontal. It goes on to ask for gravitational force, normal force and frictional force.

So I assumed that constant velocity was hint leading to no acceleration. and by knowing acceleration and the force of 100 N I could figure out the mass. But then how is there 100 N of force if acceleration is 0???

Explanation / Answer

when body is in motion, its acclration is not zero, here it i acted upon both its accleration and accleration due to gravity

Hence u get answers of 100N and -100 N
