A lipid profile is a test used to check the cholesterol level in blood ensuring the heart health. The components of lipid profile are Total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides. A lipid profile is suggested to measure and monitor the above components in the blood to understand the health of the person.

In Mrs Hampton case, the fasting triglycerides must be elevated. It may be Borderline high ie 150-199 mg/dL or High, between 200-499 mg/ dL or Very high, stating more than 500 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L).
