let i1 cuuent in top loop and i2 current in bottom loop
then by kvl
-12=4i1+2(i1-i2)--------------------(1) (assume current direction is clockwise)
-3.5=8.5i2+2(i2-i1)----------------(2) (assume current direction is clockwise)
by solving them
i1=-2.25
i2=-0.76
so current through 2ohm is i1-i2 = -1.49A so current flow form b to a.
Vba = 2*1.49=2.98V (point b is at higher potential then a )
