Compare to ICD-9, ICD-10 are complex and specific. Codes in ICD-10 are of 7 digits. The first digit in ICD-10 is always a character that is letter except U, second digit can be number and third digit is a combination of both character and digits. It contains X that is placeholder for later expansion of codes with more expansion.

ICD-10 categories diagnosis based on intermediate, moderate and severe categories. Which is an advancement of ICD-9 where disease were given one categorie.
