Explanation / Answer

Part A)

The focal length of a convex mirror is negative, and half the radius of curvature. Thus the focal length = -12.1 cm

Apply 1/f =1/p + 1/q

1/-12.1 = 1/10.2 + 1/q

q = -5.53 cm (Negative is sign convention indicating the image is behind the mirror, I am not sure if your answer key accepts the negative or not)

Part B)

M = -q/p

M = -(-5.53)/10.2

M = .543

Part C)

Apply 1/f =1/p + 1/q

1/-12.1 = 1/20.2 + 1/q

q = -7.57 cm (Negative again, same as before)

Part D)

M = -(-7.57)/20.2

M = .375
