Question

17 ANSEWR IS B

EXPLAIN WHY IT IS PLZ

16. In the figure below, the switch S is initially open, and we close the switch at time t = 0. What is the magnitude of the voltage drop across the 4.00 ohm resistor (i) at time t = 0, and (ii) at time t right arrow infinity? A) (i) 3.33V, (ii) 6.67V B) (i) 8.00V, (ii) 6.67V C) (i) 3.33V, (ii) 2.50 V D) (i) 6.67 V, (ii) 3.33 V E) (i) 6.67 V, (ii) 2.50 V 17. A point charge +1.0 mu C is placed at the center of a cube of side length 4cm. What is the magnitude of the electric flux through one face of the cube due to the point charge?

Explanation / Answer

16)

Here , at time t = 0 , inductor is open circuit ,

hence , Using voltge divider ,

V(4 ohm ) = 4 * 10 /(4 + 8)

V(4) = 3.33 V

Now , at time t = inifnite ,inductor is short circuit ,

as 4 ohm are 8 ohm are in parallel,

1/Rp = 1/4 + 1/8

Rp = 2.667 Ohm

Using volatage divider ,

V(4) = 2.667 * 10/(8 +2.667)

V(4) = 2.50 V

hence , the correct answer is option C

17)

Here , using gauss law

FLux = Qin/Epsilon

Flux = 1 *10^-6 /8.854 *10^-12

Flux = 1.1 *10^5 N.m^2/C

Flux thorugh 1 face = flux/6

Flux thorugh 1 face = 1.1 *10^5 /6

Flux thorugh 1 face = 1.9 *10^4 N.m^2/C

correct option is B
