Her family is unable to provide the ongoing care she requires because they too are getting old and they live in a different state. Mrs. Green is a new resident of Golden Grove Nursing Home. She is very passive and allows the staff to do everything for her despite the fact that she is capable of doing many things for herself. She does not express any feelings or preferences about her care, meals, or anything else. When asked about her perceptions she says, “It doesn’t matter. You’ll do whatever you want anyway.” She prefers to remain in her room. The following questions relate to the above situation. 1. 1. The defining characteristics observed in Mrs Greens behaviour are her passiveness that allowing other whatever they want to do without any active response or resistance,preference to remain alone in the room,and doesnot express any feelings,preferences about her care ,meal etc.

2. the condition for which she needs nursing diagnosis is her recent accident with broken hip.It is a life threatening complications especially for adults above 65 age because bones weaken and risk of falling increases with age. Shes also under depression as there are clear symptoms and signs showing in her behaviour.

3.Following the medication given by the doctor as it is a slow down recovery,taking proper diet and meals to overcome the pain and the fracture, and the patient also shows mood disorders so social interaction,spiritual distress,contact the family and arrange for crisis counseling etc.

4.Risk factors are mainly depression,anxiety, social isolation etc so the patient should be continously under observation.She will have satisfaction with social circumstances and acheivements of life goals.She will identify support from the group she is in contact with.She will demonstrate alternate ways of dealing with negative feelings and emotional stress.
