Question
The patient has changed his eating habits over the past 6 months. He started to control the amount of calories he consumed and kept it below 3000 kcal/day. He got a membership at the local gym, but due to his busy schedule he wasn’t been able to spend time working out “maybe goes once a week”. Four weeks ago he started a “fad diet” to help him lose more weight. He is 26 years old now, his blood pressure is 125/76, he weighs 200lb, he is 5'9" and his waist circumference is 40in. He recorded what he ate during the last 2 weeks and these are the results: 2700 kcal/day (total daily intake), 1000 kcal from lipids, 1200 kcal from protein and 500 kcal from carbohydrates.
List one positive thing about his current diet and explain how you came to that conclusion.
Explanation / Answer
The daily total intake of food is 2700 Kcal/day,,B.P-125/76 ,weight-200lb,waist circumference 40inches whicch was recorded during past 2weeks and even he started fad diet.
the positive thing which i have seen isas he joined in gym but couldn't able to attend hardly attending once in a week because of his busy schedule and even he stated "fad diet" .fad diet is very good diet in modern lifestyle ,it is helpful in burnig fat more easily..this type of diet is used by celebrities mostly, this diet is completely based upon psuedoscience which are marketedor described with exaggrated claims and not sustainable in science regarding the benefits of eating certain way or harms of eating such certain foods.the main principle of this diet is eat less ,work more and eat lots of fruits and vegetables.which helps to burn fat easily as he is taking less food and more work energy consumed by food less but more calories are spent by doing more work/move . In this way he can loose weight easily and fastly
