There are certainly other factors not included in the article which leads to childhood obesity that includes;
1) Genetic factors- History of obesity among parents or close family members in family can have obese children.
2) Sleep pattern- Children who does not have proper sleep may have higher levels of ghrelin, a hormone released by the stomach that induces hunger. Moreover, lack of sleep is associated with low levels of kept in, a hormone responsible for stopping the feeling of hunger. These factors can lead to obesity.
3) Socio-Economic Environment - Studies have revealed that Socio-Economic Environment in which the child is raised also have an impact on whether the child develops obesity.
4) Health related conditions -Some disease and related conditions like Cushing's Syndrome, Growth hormone deficiency, Hypothyroidism, Genetic Syndromes, having a high birth weight, psychological and behavioural factors can also contribute to childhood obesity.
5) Activities- Lack of physical activity and sedentary activities can attribute to childhood obesity
The article explains that BPA is also one of the factor which causes children obesity. BPA is not the only factor but it is one among other many factors which leads to obese children.
