Explanation / Answer
With a scatter plot you have two variables, an x and a y.
There really isn't any formula. You plot the points on a graph with x being the horizontal axis and y being on the vertical. Then you look for patterns (linear or curvilinear) between the points. You can do it in Excel if you don't want to do it by hand. If there appears to be a pattern you can do a regression analysis as a means of predicting values of y from values of x.
