Explanation / Answer

Lets choose a country, India. Indian economy is performing well both on the internal and external front with economic growth of 7.6% and inflation of 5-6%. The table below shows the data on the GDP growth rate (% y/y).

Data source: World bank (http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.KD.ZG) and IMF (http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2016/update/01/)

India is expected to grow at 7.5% y/y due to lower food prices, high investors' confidence, good government initiatives and better policy reforms. In order to maintain this position it is required to control fiscal deficit and maintain high foreign reserves. Structural developments play a vital role in improving the manufacturing sector which strengthens the growth.

According to the IMF, “Growth in China and India has been broadly in line with projections, but trade growth has slowed down noticeably. The trade slowdown is related to the decline in investment growth across emerging market economies, which reflects rebalancing in China but also the sharp scaling down of investment in commodity exporters, particularly those facing difficult macroeconomic conditions."
