Any marketing strategy that does not count as traditional marketing strategy is considered as Non-traditional marketing strategy. These strategies catch the attention of the consumers rapidly as they are more creative and unpredictable. These non-traditional marketing strategies do not rely on orthodox marketing methods. Consumers tend to view such non-traditional ads as more real and relevant.
Traditional marketing methods are considered as ads on brochures, catalogues, leaflets, carry bags from shopping stores, ads on t-shirts, print ads campaign and many more. Non-traditional marketing methods revolve around social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Some other strategies include as placing the sample of the commodity produced in newspaper, promoting the brands in films and TV serials, promoting products by showing big celebrities in their advertisements, storytelling with images or performance art, making documentaries telling the story of the product or service and showing them not only on television but on the internet.
In other words, non-traditional marketing involves displaying the advertisements of the products or services in unusual yet creative way that is much relevant to the consumers. They had the essence of emotions and feelings which make the customers mostly repeat their purchases for the products.
Traditional marketing strategies involves much investment of money as these advertising methods are dear and bear much costs, for example, printing ads in newspaper, displaying big banners on the roads and highways, promoting products on radio and television. Whereas, non-traditional marketing strategies are inexpensive. They do not cost thousands of dollars. If managed well to convey their brand messages, these strategies can generate huge amount of revenues & profits on investments made.
Non-traditional marketing strategies are flexible in nature not structured as traditional marketing. Their focus is on execution rather than planning the strategy. Non-traditional methods rely on their infatuation and trusting their own judgment. These methods believe in word-of-mouth communication method. Thus, it involves less monetary budget. These non-traditional marketing methods rely on free advertising mostly. Traditional marketing methods focus on competitors, consumers, company's mission and collaborators. Their methods are highly disciplined in nature, which involves much cost.
Since non-traditional methods do not involve pre-testing of the product, therefore it is considered cheaper than traditional marketing methods, as traditional methods involve project management.
In other words, we can say that non-traditional marketing strategies involve creativity and full commitment. It is an efficient as well as an effective marketing tool for companies as it is much cheaper than classic marketing methods.
