Explanation / Answer

1) Quartz & Feldspar

2) Minerals come from from the sediments carried out by the channel or river. High energy channels & river break out the hard rocks & due to chemical change while the transportation some minerals gets dissolved & some left remain in the channel that are Quartz & Feldspar.

3) During summers the waves carry less energy & small which helps them to carry sand & in winter the waves have high energy & large which allow them to carry large particles. So, during summers sand gets deposited in beach face & large particles in beach face at winter time.

4) The sand is being pushed by small waves in summers in the form of migrating sand bars.

5) The small summer waves puch the sand towards the shore in the form of migrating sand bars & the large winter waves gauge out sand and deposite it as sand bars offshore.

6) Storms move in North East direction which creates waves which in turn strikes the beach at an angle as a result sand moves towards South.

7) Sand is removed with the help of a dredge at the rate of 280,000 cubic yards/ year.

8) River of sand interrupted down the coast due to the submarine canyon having depth of 3000ft & length 20 miles. River of sand in drained on the canyon.

9) When a dam is built across one of the rivers the flow to the ocean the sand is trapped by the dam.

10) Yes the video really helped in understanding how the beach is formed in southern Californea. Specially, the the video captured by time lapse camera was awesome.
