Question

SIX SIGMA

The Luis Munoz Marin Airport Operations Department is interviewing you for a Process Excellence Manager position. In the interview process you are asked to outline a SIPOC in LT 20 minutes related to the Airport Security Checkpoint. The hiring manager indicates that there are 4 critical results needed for you to have a successful operation, those are (1) 100% safety of all passengers; (2) Timely security checks, Not more than 10 minutes from the tune the passenger gets into the security checkpoint line until he is cleared; (3) Metric related to the count of passengers that are stopped due to deviations (i.e., items not allowed in flight); (4) Identification/stratification/categorization of the deviations (i.e., items collected) & defect removals. Your SIPOC should consider the inputs and outputs of the Airport Security Checkpoint and also factors that would affect the 4 critical responses (i.e., safety, time, stopped passengers, deviation types/categories). (A). Develop a SIPOC Diagram for this process. Feel free to include your assumptions, more lines or process steps/boxes as required.
