1. Planet Earth is our only home for the time being. As global populations grow and our resources dwindle, we should worry more about the issue of

a) Scarcity and Choice.

i) List the 5 most critical nonrenewable resources. (do not use oil of any kind, coal, or natural gas)

ii) For each of the 5, explain why it is critical to human survival on the planet.

iii) For each of the 5, discuss 3 choices we need to be making today relative to that nonrenewable resource, to prolong our comfortable existence on the planet.

Explanation / Answer

It seems i have left with Nuclear energy alone now . I don't think there are five different critical non renewable resources available other than the things you have mentioned.

Let me expalin you about nuclear energy as i suppose you are already aware of the coal natural gase and crude oil.

See nuclear (uranium ) resources are available in abundant in australia may be US as well. But the process we use to generate energy is very risky. Technologically we may be at upper hand now .But if some fault come into picture then no one can resue the land near by nuclear energy production is happening .

The process of energy generatin is not much important for us for now . but let me ppput two points such that in future we would be in good position to know what is what when we are making a energy policy.

nuclear reactor uses fussion fission process for energy generation we use a oollent to cool the apparatus down and a reactor for the process of burning the uranium.

i hope i covered question 1 and 2 let me answer three now :

There is a seriousresearch in energy generating methods now . Especially regarding renewable resources. now in india many ofthe states are using solar energy for commercial lightnin purpose. win energy we already know in denmark and canada it is very higly reliable resource for energy.there are some constraints for every renewable resourcces. becuase availability is matter so depending on the place we have to go through with the energy usage and production. near by oceans we can use tides for energy production.

There are many more resources available in terms of renewable energies.so we can pick what ever is needed.
