Explanation / Answer

In 2008, Pierre Desrochers and Hiroko Shimizu in their paper “YES, WE HAVE NO BANANAS:A Critique of the “Food Miles” Perspective”; October 2008; mentioned that the most fundamental advocate of the food mile concept are those people who do not buy food grown outside their town or village or we can say that they buy food which are grown within the radius of 100 mile from their residence.

They also highlighted a real life case where two couple located in Southwest British Columbia consumed only what they grew for a year in their home garden. It was a challenge which they took to bring out the fundamental issues in growing “local”. They documented their whole experience in a form of a book
