Types of decisions:
Programmed decisions: These are structural decisions which management of an organization used to take frequently. An example is production decision for timely supply and / or to meet customers’ specifications.
Non-programmed decisions: These are non-structural decisions useful for emergency purpose or immediate action. Managements require these decisions on spot. Suppose a decision has to take against an employee doing fraud.
Decision-making process:
1. The problem has to be selected and identified.
2. There might be many ways to solve the problem. These ways has to be listed.
3. Out of that listing, the best alternative way has to be selected.
4. The best alternative has to be implemented.
5. Collecting the feedback of working or non-working.
