If there is government bailout of $400 then
Expected profits from risky borrower = 840 - 600 = $240
The bank will prefer the risky borrower
The expected bailout should be of that amount that it covers the $160 loss of the risky borrower and yield $80 as profits to be at par with the safe borrower. Hence the expected bailout should be of $240. Probability of the bailout should be 240 / 400 = 0.6
