AI: Future Economic Impact: At present there are a few notable industry leaders that have strong opinions on AI, its future, and its impact on humanity. Explain these opinions and critically critique them.

You are all PhD’s employed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and your project is to speculate and develop a solution that has a positive impact on humanity, global economy, health, and the environment. We are in a post-industrial phase of our societal development, we do not want to experience a Toffler like Future Shock. The good news is that we are a resilient species and we have created an inventive society. Provide us with a framework that is realistic, one which will not make us subservient to our inventions but will allow us to survive and thrive.

Artificial intelligence (AI): This is the machining intelligence or the name of the study of this intelligence.

Strong opinions are as below:

1.AI helps human development, since it is limitless and can go beyond imagination. People can get the advantage out of it as and when required.

2. Its future is very bright because of its effectiveness. Suppose a computer can store billion of data in its memory which a human being can’t do.

3. It has great impact on humanity because of increasing dependency. More and more people are becoming dependent on AI.

Critique: AI is not a competitor but an aid of human intelligence. Therefore, using it in cooperative mode will be beneficial for the society.
