Natural disasters Please explain with details

1.Answer based on the following diagrams:

a. Explain how the polar jet stream is formed:

b. Why does the polar jet stream flow from west to east?:

c. Explain why the polar jet stream plays a large role in influencing weather patterns in the middle latitudes, roughly 3o degrees N to 60 degrees north:

d. How has the warming from 1950 to the present of the Earth’s Northern polar region begun to change how the polar jet stream behaves and what does this mean for the type of weather events we will have had and will have in the future?

Explanation / Answer

a. Jet streams are fast flowing, narrow, ribbons of air high up in the atmosphere of some planets, including Earth. As for the transportation of highs and lows jet streams are important because that affect our weather and lives on a daily basis. A strong horizontal temperature contrast like temparature difference between pole and equator. This difference creates a horizontal strong wind with high speed. The polar front is the boundary between the cold North Pole air and the warm equatorial air. It is directly affect our weather in the continental US.

b. These are westerly winds, meaning they come from the west and blow toward the east.

c. The polar jet be in a position roughly 60°N latitude to 30°N because of the temperature differences between air at mid-latitudes and the warmer equatorial air.

d. Scientists are keep on saying one thing is 5 percent to 10 percent more precipitation in the atmosphere circulating over the northern part of the world. Here warmer-than-usual oceans and a polar jet stream that’s causing extreme temperature. Global warming has changed the Arctic climatic condition and it may have reshape the jet stream that drives weather.
