Explain the advantages and disadvantages to writing the grant proposal on your own and writing it with a group of people.

Your team has a direction that you would like to pursue in writing this grant proposal (one that all of you are sure will win your organization the grant), but an influential executive in the organization wants to go in a different direction. What is the best way to deal with this situation?

Advantages and disadvantages of wrtiting the grant proposal on your own with a group of people:

The main advantages is that you can own your opinion and present it to the people. You can express your opinion and let the mass group of people know about your own opinion. You need not go to personally because it is know at a one shot of your writing.

Disadvantages are that your writing might be ignored by people and it might not be viewed by many people. There might be some differences in opinion. Your topic might not be liked by some and you might face heavy critisism. People might throw personal enmity on you and try to interrupt your writing.

Second part: First we need to hear the executive in the organization what they had to say on this. Hear out their opinion and then take a call. Advises from the executive must be welcomed and this leads to good bonding between them and us. May be their way of thinking is better than us and might lead to more fruitful results. And if we see that their directions is might not lead to fruitful results than us, then we need to explain the whole situation with relevant scenarios and examples that their way of doing or their directions is not upto the mark. Need to sit down and discuss the whole perspective with the executives and then take a final call.

The advantages and disadvantages of presenting your team’s proposal verbally rather than in writing:

The main advantages the team's proposal verbally is that it saves a huge amount of time.Just we need to read out the ideas and plans to the team members and let them know what you actually need.

The main disadvantages is that we might not know how our tone of voice and expressions be like to others. May be it is in our intension to explain clearly however the other perons might think that we are just forcing our opinion on them. Another disadvantage is that public memory is short and we might say a lot of things however, all the stuffs might not be remembered and people tend to forget some. They might forget an important point and this might to problems and even disasters.
