During the week she takes her son to school and then goes to school herself. she works second shift 3pm to 11pm and gets home around midnight. Her parents live close by and are able to pick up her son from school, take care of him during the evening, feed him dinner and get him to bed. she does not have time to think about what is to eat during the week. She eats breakfast cereals for breakfast and dinner and usually eats fast food for lunch. On the weekends, she tries to prepare meals for herself and her son.She figures she will only be in school for a few years and for now she can get what she needs to keep herself healthy by taking a daily multivitamin.
1. Can Gina get all the vitamins she needs by taking a once a day vitamin pill?
2. How could Gina get more vitamins from food during the week?
3. Gina's friend has started selling a line of nutritional supplements and has been telling Gina that she should start using the vitamin supplements that she sells to help give her energy for her busy schedule. How can Gina decided if these vitamins would be helpful for her?
Explanation / Answer
1 cup of breakfast cereals have around 120 calories include milk in it, it will become around 250 calories. Let us assume that she had 1 bowl in breakfast and one and a half in dinner then she is getting around 800 calories.Lets say she is having a cheeseburger with some fries and a carbonated drink which is equal to 520(250+230+40). Therefore total calorie intake is around 1320-1400 calories.
A normal lady need 1700 to 2000 calorie per day now because of hectic life her need would be around 2000 calories. That means she is having a calorie deficient diet hence she need some suppliments.
1. Yes, she can get all the vitamins she needs by taking a once a day vitamin pillwhich will provide her with 100% of daily value of all 8 B-Vitamins, complete Multivitamin and should not contain Aspirin. Apart from vitamins she should add something in her diet to increase her calorie count like juices and fruits and nuts.
2. She can get more vitamins from food during the week by including Peanut butter with brown bread,Broccoli Red bell pepper & Brussels sprout's salad, can have some Orange juice or carrot juice instead of burger or something else she can have chicken rich invitamin B6 or beef which is high on vitamin B12.
3. Gina should look for all the vitamins in the nutrient content of the pill and also see if those pills are having some calorie in it because she needs to have some calorie in her diet/suppliment.
