Describe the importance of media literacy in the 21st century. Describe an actual event related to media economics, print media, sound media, motion media, video games OR* Internet content where media literacy was or is imperative for understanding the context, importance and truth of the event.

Examples of events could include: presidential campaigning; file sharing/"piracy" online; gaming; politics on social media; privacy on the Internet; violent/sexual content on film/TV; social networking; debates over mass shootings; etc.

Media means mass communication like broadcasting, publishing and internet. Today everyone is using the internet in their smartphones, tablet, laptop and computer. So, any news across the world, they can come to know within the fraction of seconds. News its consists of political, an economy of country, arts, science etc… like these so many things they can watch by sound media as well as print media.

Today, most of the younger generations well connected with social networking websites like facebook, twitter, Instagram etc…So, whatever they received the information shared with the rest of their friends, relatives and mutual friends. Everyone came to know the information within the less time by sharing the information with all of them.

There is a lot of difference in an earlier century to the present century. In olden days, there is a lot of time taken to came to know the news for the public. Because, the lack of communication at that time means no telephones, no television, no proper print media, no social media and no internet. However, in the present scenario, the public sit relaxed condition and came to know the news by smartphones, tablets, laptop, computer and television.

Today, the maximum younger generation well connected with social networking websites in order to get the news. The middle-aged persons connected with smartphones and computers. The old age persons connected with television and print media. As per the analysis, the types of above mentioned aged persons connected with different kind of devices to came to know the news.

Earlier, there is no scope to get the news of about the other countries information. However, today, we came to know the information about all the things like (science, arts, politics, conflicts, wars, movies etc…) from the four corners of the world.

Recently, the U.S.A president has changed from Barack Obama to Donald Trump. In before the elections and conduction survey later the Donald Trump elected as president, everything was covered by print media and social media. This information was up to date given to the public effectively by social media. So, all of the persons well participated on the survey by online in order to elect the president.

Not only, the U.S.A, in each and every countries presidents or prime minister or any other prominent persons changed then this information came to know the public immediately. This kind of awareness is mainly brought by media.

            Today, most of the persons have good knowledge about the media literacy. Once the internet came into the public then they are utilizing in different paths and completed their tasks.

For example: The employees are maximum doing the work from their home. So, the transportation cost will be reduced and he comfortably to do their work in their home. The employee sends his work online to the employer, once he/she finished his work. Here, the money saved to the employee and employer.

There are so many advantages and as well as dis-advantages have by media. In some of the public, they misuse the social networking websites by seeing the sexual content and uploading the sexual information. So, most of the other persons see or watch the obscene things and going in a wrong path.

Some of the persons have committed to the piracy. If any movie release into the outside in the same day or next day the netizens will upload the movie to the public in some websites so all the public see the movie in online. The movie producers fell into loss by these kinds of piracy activities.

The most of the public they have attracted to the online gaming like playing the cards and betting. These activities are also against the law of the government. If the persons participating in this online gaming then they can get their income or they lose completely their life. Some of the public addict to this kind of online gaming and lost their life. This is really a such a bad impact is influenced on most of the public.

We have well discussed about the media, how it plays a role effectively in the entire world and what are the advantages and disadvantages have in all the things? The media is ruling the entire world in present scenario and it will be continuing the operations more in future also.
