Question

Frances Fukuyama's "End of History" thesis asserts that the world is moving toward mostly liberal, democratic ideals and that the world is converging culturally on these values which are predominantly "Western." Samuel Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations" thesis asserts that the world is not converging culturally. Rather, the world is engaging in a battle among various cultures wrapped up in identity (e.g. religion) and that cultural convergence just might be impossible.

In a 300-600 word statement, please defend EITHER Fukuyama or Huntington's position. In doing so, feel free to invoke evidence from current events that support their respective positions.
