1.The photo X is the present image which has the same colour as the photo Y so the composition is same from triassice period to now that means the rock had not gone through metamorphism so that it preserves the dinasour foot print from Triassic to recent period .
2.The difference between photo X and Y is the texture and the moisture content I think as shown in the picture photo X shows highly fractured surface where as photo Y shows liitle fracture .
3.As 215 ma the environment was not clear for human being that means the rock formed at that time was under water as it is a sedimentary rock.
4.The dinasour foot print in photo Y is preserved because the rock was covered and not being buried and gone through metamorphism so the rock structure and composition does not change.
